Dr. Fabian Heymann is Senior Researcher at the Chair of Energy System Analysis (ESA) at ETH Zurich. Besides, he serves as a selected member of the international UN ECE Taskforce on Digitalization in Energy and as a part-time lecturer on “Digitalization in electricity systems” at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
Previously, he has contributed to the digitalization of the Swiss energy system as Digital Innovation Specialist at the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) and developed energy system models with a European perimeter at the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) in Brussels, as Resource Adequacy and Energy Modelling Advisor.
His prize-awarded research brings in new perspectives on digitalizing, decentralizing energy systems, building on a strong international research network and drawing from his research experience at INESC TEC (Porto, Portugal) and at the MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (Cambridge/MA, USA).
