Joint PhD Seminar with the Chair of Energy Systems and Energy Economics at Ruhr Universität Bochum
A couple of years ago, realizing that both teams hold a PhD seminar twice a year, former colleagues Russell McKenna and Valentin Bertsch teamed up to organize joint seminars with our researchers at PSI-LEA and ETH-ESA, and the Chair of Energy Systems and Energy Economics at Ruhr Universität Bochum.
These seminars bring together researchers, students, and faculty to discuss current work and exchange ideas. The presentations cover a diverse range of topics, sparking thoughtful questions and providing researchers with valuable feedback. And of course, there’s also always time for socializing and a game or two.
The most recent iteration of this joint PhD seminar was held in Bad Herrenalb, Germany. The program included sessions on:
- hydrogen and heat
- local energy systems
- electricity markets
- CDR, concrete, and impact assessment for wind
- the energy transition
- methods
We were thrilled that several researchers from the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) Chair of Energy Economics, Institute for Industrial Production, and Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften were able to join us this time.
A huge shoutout to all the presenters for their hard work and special thanks to the organizers for making the whole event a success.
