In his thesis, “A techno-economic analysis of energy communities in multi-family buildings under different European collective self-consumption frameworks,” Christoph developed an optimization model for renter-occupied multi-family buildings, considering investments in low-carbon supply and storage technologies and demand-side measures, such as building envelope retrofits.
Jonas Finke, a PhD student from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum whose work focuses on multi-objective optimisation methods in energy system models, visited the ESA group from May to July 2023.
Anna is a 2nd year PhD student atthe University of Aberdeen, working on offshore energy system integration of renewables and oil & gas sectors. She visited the Chair between May and June 2023, working collaboratively with Jiangyi Huang.
Prof. Dr. Russell McKenna serves as the key link between the Chair of Energy Systems Analysis (ETH-ESA) and the Lab for Energy System Analysis (PSI-LEA) at the Paul Scherrer Institute. This collaboration aims to strengthen links between ETH and PSI in research and teaching of energy systems analysis.
Since February 1, 2022, Russell McKenna has been a Full Professor of Energy Systems Analysis in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering. To learn more, check out his Download professor card (PDF, 841 KB).
